Climbing is very popular in Barcelona. Catalonia has about 80 climbing centers and climbing gyms with day tickets are available from €9 to €14. A popular types of climbing is bouldering, which doesn't require ropes or harnesses - only a soft surface to land safely on. Bouldering walls are usually no higher than 4 meters with padded gym floors.

Sport climbing & Boulder. Sharma Climbing Barcelona Indoor Gym. The most spectacular urban climbing in Barcelona can be found at Sharma Climbing Barcelona. There you'll find 1600m2 of climbing walls, a large and open space for bouldering and also a sport climbing area. Sharma Climbing Gavà, 20 km south of Barcelona, which is the largest climbing center in Spain. In Gavà Sharma has 5,000 square meters of climbable walls, all designed by Chris Sharma, a renowned American climber who has made Catalonia his base and who operates the climbing centers with his wife Jimena Alarcón.
